When a ‘Jump’ or a ‘Take Off’ or a ‘Skyrocket’ Happens; Time to Get In?

One thing about Qubic Energy Inc (AMEX: QBC), Evergreen Energy Inc (NYSE: EEE), and Brigus Gold Corporation (AMEX: BRD) is that they have all realized a big spike lately…

Buying on a spike can be a mistake if it’s just going to collapse on a dip and leave you a loss, but on the other side of the coin, a spike can ‘signal’ or indicate’ a new threshold, or perhaps a new bottom for a stock to rally from. When it’s a significant spike, it’s worth taking a look at even when there is a little profit taking going on.

Evergreen Energy, the clean coal and electric analysis company, was trading along in the $1.80 to $2 range for all of June, and then it spiked to its current $2.08 level and is up again today. News that the Company will be included in the Russell Microcap Index has been the catalyst. I think this stock is cheap and is currently very attractive as an ‘entry level’ possibility into the Energy Sector. Very few short sellers, a good management team, and a good, growth orientated business model make it worth a serious look.

So too with Qubic Energy, the oil and gas drilling company. The stock was trading in the $0.50 range at the end of May and then spiked up to $0.75 within three weeks, a gain of 50%. And the good news here is that the gain has held for the last three weeks: the stock is currently trading in the $0.74 range. Congratulations shareholders. Virtually no short sellers, positive sales and EPS projections, and management of its credit drilling obligations open up $1 trading possibilities.

Coming off $1.45 in mid June, Brigus Gold must be doing something right as the shares are currently trading in the $1.77 range, a spike of 22% in a few weeks. Widening its dig at the Black Fox mine is primarily the reason. With virtually no short sellers to apply downward pressure and positive, triple digit EPS projections, the stock is certainly worth a look see for new investors.

I haven’t, don’t, and do not intend on holding any of the companies mentioned in this article.
