The following three companies, Arrowhead Research Corporation (NASDAQ: ARWR), CytRx Corporation (NASDAQ: CYTR), and Tengasco Inc (AMEX: TGC) have all staged impressive turnarounds recently and at their current valuations are really worth a look at for new investors.

Have a look at CytRx Corporation which was trading in the $0.95 range at the end of May and then declined to $0.67 by the end of June, a loss of 29%. The stock has turned around and is currently trading in the $0.79 range, a gain of 18%. That’s a strong bounce back in a ten day span. CytRx has a robust cancer drug pipeline with a number of Phase II trials in process or in preparation. Its tumor-targeted drug INNO-206 has had a lot of good trial news lately spurring the bounce back. With few short sellers to apply any downward pressure, this is a biotech coming into its own and I think it is undervalued in its current range.

And have a look at the bounce back of independent oil and gas drilling company Tengasco which was trading in $0.80 range at the beginning of June, dipped to $0.63, a loss of 21%, and then bounced back with strong strength of support to its current $0.95 price, a gain of 50% in five weeks. Shareholders weren’t going to sit on the sidelines at 63 cents. Good. Tengasco has virtually no short sellers to hold it down and positive, double digit sales and EPS projections.

Arrowhead Research, a nanomedicine company, has also staged a very strong bounce back. The Company slid from $0.70 in early April to $0.42 in mid June, a loss of 40% in ten weeks. The bounce back came at that 42 cent price and the stock, currently trading in the $0.54 range, gained 28.5% in three weeks. Impressive. Arrowhead Research has virtually no short sellers and a positive, double digit EPS projection. This is a very innovative company and I think it’s very undervalued at its current price.
